Description
Chula Weekend is a painting that I did in the mid-1990’s with an early version of what is now Corel Painter software using what were the first artist media digital brushes. At that point, Painter was one of the few softwares capable of creating hand rendered work that imitated natural artistic mediums. I bought myself a Wacom tablet and digitizing pen and haven’t looked back since.
Last year I revisited the art and added some layers and textures using new Photoshop artist media brushes. The original idea came from a weekend trip to a cabin in north Georgia. My friend’s Golden Retriever, Chula, was in the back of the truck as we drove through the countryside on a cool autumn night. A crescent moon shown in the darkening sky as we zipped along the quiet state highway. It was a magical moment and since I was living “dogless” at the time, it was wonderful cavorting with a canine for the weekend.
These museum-quality art prints are made on thick and durable matte paper that has an almost velvety texture.
It comes in 3 sizes: 8”x 10”, 16”x 20”, 24”x 36”
